“The Bear,” the Chicago-based television series, will conclude after its fifth season, according to a report from Deadline. The upcoming season is expected to be released in June, although an exact date has not been announced. The show follows chef Carmy “The Bear” Berzatto, played by Jeremy Allen White, as he transforms his family’s Italian beef shop into a gourmet restaurant. Series creator Christopher Storer drew inspiration for the story from Mr. Beef, a well-known eatery in River North where he previously worked.
Speculation about the end of the series increased after Jamie Lee Curtis, who portrays the Berzatto family matriarch, referenced “completing the story” in a February 17 Instagram post. Cast members have also been seen around Chicago while filming for the final season.
During its run, “The Bear” received significant critical acclaim and earned 21 Emmy Awards across four seasons—more than any other show this decade. In 2024, its second season set a record with 11 Emmy wins for a comedy series, despite some debate among viewers about whether it fit that category. That record was surpassed in 2025 when Seth Rogan’s Apple TV series “The Studio” won 13 Emmys; however, both shows remain tied at 23 nominations each.
The cast of “The Bear” has received multiple accolades: Jeremy Allen White won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series; Ebon Moss Bachrach was recognized as Outstanding Supporting Actor; Ayo Edebiri and Liza Colón-Zayas were awarded for Outstanding Supporting Actress; and Jamie Lee Curtis and Jon Bernthal received awards for their guest roles.
All four current seasons are available to stream on Hulu and Disney+. Previous seasons have typically debuted all ten episodes at once in June.
