Two girls, ages 6 and 15, were seriously injured in a hit-and-run incident Friday morning in Englewood. According to police, the incident occurred around 7:40 a.m. in the 1700 block of West 69th Street when a white and black 2010 Lincoln MXT struck the girls as they were crossing the street. The driver did not stop after hitting them and continued westbound on 69th Street.

The younger girl suffered multiple injuries and was transported to Comer Children’s Hospital in critical condition. The teenager sustained several abrasions and was also taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, where she is listed in serious condition.

Authorities stated that the SUV involved has Illinois license plate “FS73498” and may have damage to its front, hood, or windshield. There is also a sticker on the left side of the rear window. Police released an image of the vehicle and are asking anyone with information to contact the Major Accident Investigation Unit at (312) 745-4521 or submit an anonymous tip through CPDTIP.com.

This was one of two serious hit-and-run crashes reported Friday morning. About an hour earlier, a separate incident resulted in the death of a 25-year-old Naperville man at North Kedzie and Elston avenues in Avondale, according to NBC5.
