Oakton College announced on March 12 a new guaranteed admission partnership with the University of Iowa Tippie College of Business, offering Oakton students a direct path to earn a bachelor’s degree from a nationally recognized business school.

The agreement allows Oakton students who have completed an associate of applied science in Management and Supervision to enroll as third-year students at the Tippie College of Business. This initiative aims to make it easier for Oakton graduates to continue their education and pursue advanced business degrees.

Alauna McGee, Ed.D., assistant vice president of Student Affairs and College Transition at Oakton, said, “The agreement expands opportunities for Oakton students to continue their education by earning a bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognized business school. We express our deep gratitude to Dr. Charles Keene and Jennifer Timmons for partnering with us to bring this agreement to fruition.”

The University of Iowa has long been one of the top out-of-state transfer destinations for Oakton students. The new partnership formalizes this relationship and supports student mobility between the two institutions. Charles Keene, Ed.D., associate dean for Undergraduate Programs at Tippie College of Business, said, “At the Tippie College of Business, we believe there is no single path to a business degree—only motivated students with big ambitions. This guaranteed admission partnership with Oakton College reflects our commitment to being a destination for top business talent across the Midwest and affirms our shared values of access, excellence, and student success. Oakton graduates will have full exposure to Tippie’s future‑forward curriculum, strong industry connections, and research that drives innovation. We’re thrilled to officially welcome Oakton College to the Tippie community.”

Through this agreement, Oakton students will gain access to advanced coursework and professional networks that can help accelerate their career goals. The Tippie College is known for its undergraduate business programs, experiential learning opportunities, and strong job placement rates.

Oakton continues working on expanding transfer pathways with other four-year institutions regionally and nationally so that more students can start their education locally before transferring elsewhere.
