Northwestern University announced on March 6 a series of events scheduled from April 15 to April 21, inviting students, faculty, staff, and the public to participate in a variety of activities across its Evanston and Chicago campuses.
The upcoming week offers opportunities for members of the Northwestern community and visitors to engage in sports, arts, science discussions, and student life. The university highlights that all are welcome at these events.
Athletics fans can attend the women’s lacrosse game against Rutgers at Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium on Wednesday, April 15. For those interested in art and science intersections, artist Dario Robleto will present his film “Ancient Beacons Long for Notice” at The Block Museum of Art on the same day. The screening will be followed by a conversation exploring ethical questions raised by humanity’s space exploration history.
On Thursday, April 16, the Spring Arts and Crafts Fair will take place in the Louis Room at Norris University Center. Attendees can view or purchase handmade art created by Northwestern community members or participate in craft-making activities. That evening also features University Night at the Art Institute of Chicago with free admission for Northwestern affiliates and their guests; guided tours and special events are planned as part of this collaboration.
Friday brings the inaugural Energy Innovation Lab conference titled “Energy Innovation and Emerging Technologies,” which will feature over seventy speakers discussing topics such as data center strategies and space-based energy solutions. Saturday afternoon is reserved for TEDxNorthwestern’s event themed “The Ripple Effect,” focusing on how small actions lead to significant changes through talks that connect personal choices with broader societal impacts.
Rounding out the week is Monday’s Spring Org Fair where nearly one hundred undergraduate student organizations will introduce themselves to prospective new members looking to get involved on campus.
These scheduled activities reflect ongoing efforts by Northwestern University to foster creativity, innovation, dialogue across disciplines, athletic engagement, and student involvement.
