Grammy-award-winning singer Lucy Dacus will perform at Millennium Park this July alongside the Chicago Philharmonic, according to an announcement made on Apr. 1.
The event is notable as it brings together a prominent artist and a respected orchestra for a live performance in one of Chicago’s most recognized public venues. The concert is scheduled for July 19, with presale tickets having started Wednesday and general ticket sales beginning Friday.
Dacus shared her excitement about the show on social media, writing, “They’re letting this guy sing with the @chicagophilharmonic at Millennium Park! My mom is from Illinois, so I’ve been visiting this exact place since I can remember. Also my aunt will be on oboe for this :’) really cool.”
Chicago rock band Ratboys will open for Dacus during the event. Dacus is known as an American singer-songwriter, guitarist and record producer, and she is also part of Boygenius—a Grammy-winning trio that includes Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker. Her recently announced 2026 tour supports her upcoming album “Forever Is a Feeling,” which is set to release in 2025.
Ratboys began their national tour in February and have previously performed at high-profile events such as a campaign rally for Bernie Sanders. They have also opened for bands like Wilco and The Decemberists. In February, Ratboys played to a sold-out crowd at Beat Kitchen to celebrate their new album “Singin’ to an Empty Chair” while raising funds for local immigrant communities.
The collaboration between Lucy Dacus and the Chicago Philharmonic highlights continued interest in cross-genre performances within major city venues.
