Everywhere Social Club, a queer-led and sober social club, is set to open this summer on the rooftop of 5050 N. Broadway in Uptown, according to an April 15 announcement from its founders.

The club aims to provide a space for people seeking nightlife options that do not revolve around alcohol. Its founders say the venue will serve as a coffee house during the day and offer mocktails at night while hosting community events ranging from workshops and lectures to live entertainment.

Co-founder Zach Walz said, “Everywhere is a place where people can connect instead of trying to drown out the world.” He added that opening in Uptown was intentional: “By being in Uptown, we are purposely a destination away from the Northalsted bars. And the sunsets are going to be insane.”

The team behind Everywhere includes individuals with backgrounds in hospitality and nightlife who have chosen sobriety. Co-founder Morgan Higgins stopped drinking three years ago, while Dan Quinn stepped back after two decades working in nightlife. Walz shared his personal motivation: “I want to create a space where people can find their kin and don’t have to give up what they love just because they want to drink less.”

Rachel Ablavi, another co-founder and yoga teacher, said Everywhere fills a gap for those who want social spaces without alcohol: “As a queer person who more recently stopped drinking, I lost the joy of going out, dancing and being uninhibited. Finding a place that focuses on meeting people… but without alcohol was super enticing.” The club’s name reflects its inclusive philosophy; Ablavi said, “You find queer people everywhere. They are in all social statuses; they are in the closet; and they are out.”

Brandon Andrew emphasized inclusivity for both LGBTQ+ individuals and allies: “This is a place where you can show up, make a friend, and be accepted for who you are.” The team plans diverse programming including craft nights, lectures by local professors on American history or tenant rights law workshops led by legal scholars.

As construction continues ahead of an anticipated late-July opening—and with fundraising efforts underway—the founders say they aim for thoughtful design with input from local artists. Andrew noted their commitment: “We’re focused on programming and connecting in real life… We’re offering opportunities for presence in a beautiful environment.”
