The last weekend of March in Chicago will feature a variety of events for residents and visitors, according to a Mar. 26 announcement. Activities include the return of C2E2, Andersonville Restaurant Week, several local markets, workshops and live performances.

The range of options provides opportunities for people to enjoy the beginning of spring with indoor and outdoor events across neighborhoods. From family-friendly activities to food tastings and music nights, organizers say there is something for everyone.

C2E2, the Midwest’s largest pop culture convention, will take place at McCormick Place South Building from Friday through Sunday. The event includes an artist alley with over 300 vendors and appearances by celebrity guests. Meanwhile, Andersonville Restaurant Week continues through Sunday with participating restaurants offering special deals on local cuisine.

Other highlights include a seed swap in Dan Ryan Woods for gardening enthusiasts; the International Women’s Day Market in Ravenswood featuring women-owned businesses; comedy shows such as Joke Swap at The Lincoln Lodge; live jazz performances in South Shore; hands-on arts activities at the Chicago History Museum; film screenings at the South Asia Institute; adoption events for animal lovers; craft workshops around the city; dance parties like Heart Of Chicago Soul Club at The Hideout; as well as family-oriented classes such as concha-making sessions for children.

Sunday marks Wicker Park’s last indoor market day before outdoor market season begins again in just over a month. Additional recurring events are scheduled into April and May for those who cannot attend this weekend.
