A variety of events are scheduled across Chicago this weekend, including indoor markets, art openings, performances, and special restaurant deals, according to a March 19 announcement.

The range of activities provides opportunities for residents and visitors to explore different neighborhoods and support local businesses. Highlights include West Town Restaurant Week, which features discounts and prix fixe menus at neighborhood restaurants, as well as Andersonville Restaurant Week continuing its run.

Cultural offerings include the Chicago Symphony Orchestra performing Verdi’s operas under conductor Riccardo Muti at Symphony Center. Art lovers can attend the opening of “The Posthumous Trial of Giulia Tofana” at The Den Theatre or visit the Block House Gallery in Pullman for a showcase of South Side quilters. Film enthusiasts may be interested in Common Threads’ screening of “Watermelon Woman” in Woodlawn.

Several markets will take place throughout the city. The Spring Vintage & Artisan Market in Ravenswood offers vintage clothing and handmade goods, while the Jefferson Park Sunday Market returns with produce and live music. The Viva La Mujer market at Bridgeport Arts Center celebrates Women’s History Month by featuring women artists and small businesses.

Other notable events include a silent reading party at Da Book Joint in South Shore, a stand-up comedy showcase at The Lincoln Lodge in Bucktown, and the Trans Wellness Fair in Pilsen with music, vendors, and wellness resources.
